He equated "despicable fool" in the original Greek as being similar to calling someone an apostate; then stated that only Jehovah can do such a thing, therefore, humans face Gehenna (as per Matt. 5:22) if they call someone an apostate!!

When we read Job chapters 1 & 2 and Matthew 4:1-11, we can see that Jehovah & Jesus both spoke with Satan - whom many have cited as "the first apostate."

Jesus even witnessed to him from the Scriptures!! He didn't "shun him."

So what do we learn from those 'confrontations'?

Always to be ready to make a defense.........to anyone!! (1 Pet. 3:15)

God will ultimately judge who is apostate, and who is not!!

Who is the faithful and discreet slave? Is a RHETORICAL question

what brought me out of the wt , was one day it dawned on me, mathew 25:35,36 ..i was hungry and you gave me food;i was thirsty and you gave me drink;i was a stranger and you took me in, i was naked and you clothes me,i was sick and you visited me, i was in prison and you came to me.

i was being told this was some "symbolic action" we were supposed to take towards the wt version of the faithful and discreet slave.

and something inside me just said, "no it isn't" its real.

Jesus made it clear exactly who would be counted as his brothers - and he wasn't referring to an elite group!!

Anyone could become his brother and be reconciled as a son of God, if they accepted him as their ransom & Mediator!

(Matthew 12:50) whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
(Matthew 13:38) The field is the world; as for the fine seed, these are the sons of the kingdom;
(Matthew 25:40) To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.

At the Special Assembly Day (S.A.D.) last weekend, the District Overseer had us all read Matthew 5:22, which in part says, "whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the Supreme Court; whereas whoever says, ‘You despicable fool!’ will be liable to the fiery Ge·hen´na."

Having read it, he stated this -

"If you go so far as to call your brother "a despicable fool", closely connected to someone being called an 'apostate', © who in the end is only judged by Jehovah - well they could be liable to Gehenna - do we get the point?"

Therefore, comments such as, "He felt that having a quick look at an apostate Web site would not be dangerous", (w11 2/15 p. 19) are self-condemnatory judgements to whoever made them.

Anyone got any ideas who makes such "despicable" accusations and usurps Jehovah's authority?

i notice the jw bible is copyrighted.

are any other "holy" books copyrighted?.

i guess that means publishing it online along with a critique would violate the copyright?.

The simple thing to do would be to provide a link to the Watchtower Online Library, where the NWT is available to anyone. Then just simply add your comments to whatever passages or translated words you are questioning. No © problems!!!

IS THERE PROOF THE GOVERNING BODY PREACH DOOR TO DOOR? Real Proof Please!

i heard very few if any, of the new members on the governing body actually go out in field service more than three hours a month.

is there a reason why the governing body would excuse themselves from the master's commandments?

jesus christ never said "spending time writing rules and regulations" was part of matthew 28. .

Obtained the full audio of the Special Assembly Day.

The title of the talk is, "Follow Your Spirit Directed Conscience."

Here are his words unedited:

"Jehovah does not give Holy Spirit, apart from the Scriptures. Now that's the first thing. The second thing is, Jehovah does not provide wisdom through Holy Spirit apart from the Faithful & Discreet Slave Class. We're just going to pause there and review those two main points; the conscience is a gift from God, but in order for it to work as he designed it, we need to be good students of God's word, because He's not going to impart Holy Spirit to us apart from the Scriptures, and He isn't going to impart that Holy Spirit - there is no wisdom from God apart from the Faithful & Discreet Slave class. We want a good conscience that is going to guide us the right way."

Interestingly, in his morning talk, "Is your Conscience Truly Guided by Bible Principles", he had us read Matthew 5:22 and stated that calling someone "a despicable fool" was likened to calling them an apostate, which could mean the judgement of Gehenna for us, because only Jehovah has the right to judge someone as an apostate!!

Hasn't the D.O. been reading our literature during the past several decades???????????Just wondering!!

As I said previously, I felt sick inside, thinking to myself, "To what level is the Org prepared to sink - they've elevated themselves and relegated Christ."
